Prepared by Radif Partners · Method · Rules read in the BOE and the regional gazettes on 28 October 2026

Spain's 2026 holiday calendar was published in the BOE on 28 October 2025 with just 8 holidays shared by the whole country, because 1 November and 6 December fall on a Sunday. Each region decided what to do with those two Sundays: 9 regions give Monday 2 November off and 10 Monday 7 December, while the rest used the slots for regional days elsewhere in the year. So the end of 2026 depends on where you live: in Madrid you link Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 December, in Catalonia and the Balearics Saint Stephen's Day on the 26th falls on a Saturday, and in the Basque Country or Valencia December only brings the 8th and the 25th. On top of each region's 12 holidays come each town's 2 local days, published in its gazette: we read them for 201 towns. The tool shows your 14 holidays of 2026, greying out those already past, and the working days in each month.

The 8 nationwide holidays of 2026

The resolution of 17 October 2025 set these holidays for the whole country. That is one fewer than in a normal year because 1 November and 6 December fall on a Sunday, and each region decided on its own whether to move them to the Monday.

Of those 8, 1 fall on a Saturday: Assumption Day (15 August). They are not made up, because Royal Decree 2001/1983 only moves Sunday holidays.

November and December, region by region

Local holidays still to come this year

The 2026 local holidays were published between summer and winter 2025, each in its own gazette; we have them for 19 regions and autonomous cities. Among the towns in the search, these still have a local holiday in November or December: Benidorm (9 November), Madrid (9 November), Benidorm (10 November), Ourense (11 November), Telde (17 November), Lloret de Mar (18 November), Lorca (23 November), Narón (23 November), Jaén (25 November), Majadahonda (25 November), Toledo (26 November), Pamplona/Iruña (30 November), Pamplona/Iruña (3 December) and Tudela (3 December), and 7 more. Madrid city has 14 holidays in the year.

Using the leave you have left

If you still have 2026 leave, the December bridge goes furthest: in regions that give the 7th off you need no leave for four days, and elsewhere Monday 7 is the day that opens those four days. Christmas Day is a Friday, so 25 to 27 December is a long weekend without taking anything. The 2026 long-weekend planner does the maths with your local holidays; for next year, see the 2027 holiday calendar.

Bear in mind that the Workers' Statute caps public holidays at 14, but your collective agreement may add personal days, such as 24 or 31 December in many sectors. Those days are not shown here because they are not official public holidays.

Common questions

Is 2 November 2026 a holiday in Spain?

Yes in Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Canary Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Castile and León, Extremadura, Madrid region and Navarre, which move All Saints' Day, 1 November, to the Monday because it falls on a Sunday. Elsewhere it is a working day: those regions used the Sunday slot to add another day of their own at some other point in the year. If your town picked it as a local holiday, the search shows it.

Where is 7 December 2026 a holiday?

In Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Cantabria, Castile and León, Extremadura, Madrid region, Murcia, La Rioja and Melilla. Constitution Day, 6 December, falls on a Sunday and these regions move it to Monday 7, which joins Tuesday 8, the Immaculate Conception: four days in a row from Saturday 5 to Tuesday 8 without taking leave.

How many holidays are left in 2026?

It depends on your region. All of Spain still has 8 and 25 December; 9 regions add 2 November, 10 add 7 December, and Catalonia and the Balearics add 26 December, a Saturday. There may also be local days left: Madrid keeps La Almudena on 9 November. The search counts yours.
