The Region of Murcia celebrates its day on 9 June, the anniversary of its Statute of Autonomy in 1982, and keeps Saint Joseph's Day. In 2027 it has 12 public holidays: the 9 shared by all of Spain and 3 of its own, St Joseph's Day (Friday 19 March), Maundy Thursday (Thursday 25 March) and Murcia Region Day (Wednesday 9 June). Murcian towns' local holidays are published in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia. Murcia city celebrates the Bando de la Huerta, the Tuesday after Easter, and its September Fair; Cartagena, Friday of Sorrows and its Carthaginians and Romans in September; Lorca, Our Lady of the Orchards and Saint Clement. In 2027 9 June falls on a Wednesday and Saint Joseph's Day on a Friday, with a long weekend. Murcia shares 9 June with La Rioja, which celebrates its own Statute that day.

Several towns tie a holiday to Easter, such as the Bando de la Huerta in Murcia, and others to September, with the Murcia Fair, Carthaginians and Romans in Cartagena or Our Lady of the Orchards in Lorca, so September usually brings the most local days off.

In the Region of Murcia, 2027 brings Saint Joseph on Friday 19 March, Holy Week a week later and Region Day on Wednesday 9 June, which gives five days by booking Monday 7 and Tuesday 8. In Murcia city, the Bando de la Huerta falls on Tuesday 30 March, right after Easter: booking Easter Monday, not a holiday here, stretches the spring break. Cartagena has Thursday 7 January, right after Epiphany.
